Five tips from the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association:

  1. Brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes with a fluoridated toothpaste
  2. Floss daily
  3. Use an antibacterial mouthwash daily
  4. Use xylitol gum or mints to neutralize the acid produced after eating
  5. Rinse your mouth with water after eating
