Tobacco is considered to be the most powerful of the medicines. Tobacco is used to represent the honesty carried in our hearts in conversation between two people or to the Spirit World. To offer tobacco to someone is paying a great respect to whatever you’re asking of them. Among some First Nations, the words “without tobacco” means “without the means of acquiring knowledge” thus many First Nation communities depend on tobacco as a means for communicating with the Creator. It is thought that tobacco sits in the eastern door (however this differs between Nations)
