The shelled variety are often found in grocery stores, though whole pumpkin seeds are safe to eat for most people.
Individuals living with inflammatory Bowel Disease or Crohn’s should avoid or limit whole pumpkin seeds -and even the shelled varieties
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds:
1. After you slice the top off the pumpkin, use a fork
to remove the seeds and flesh.
2. Place the seeds in a colander and rinse them under cold water, gently removing any flesh from the seeds with your hands.
3. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
4. Toss the seeds in olive oil and your favorite seasonings.
5. Spread seeds evenly on a baking sheet.
6. Roast at 350 F for about 12 – 15 minutes, tossing the seeds every 5 minutes to encourage even browning.
