About the Event
Mary Elliott is from Atikameksheng Anishinawbek.
She is proud and grateful to have been blessed with three daughters, eight grandchildren, two great grandsons and a great granddaughter. Over the years, Mary has travelled extensively to many First Nation communities and urban centres sharing her cultural knowledge and traditions. She is focused on living a healthy way of life, daily life skills and various Indigenous teachings (such as Indigenous parenting, rites of passage, reunification teachings/ceremonies, Our-Story, the sacredness of Nibi (water) and other Indigenous-related topics).
Over the years Mary has also developed training sessions, manuals and empowerment workshops. In 2008, she authored, “Take It Away Bear Creek,” and the same year she assisted Mary Packard author Indigenous Kit “The Dream Catcher.” Mary is privileged and honoured to have written the “Foreword” for this kit. Since retiring, Mary has worked with various agencies as Elder and supporter. She values and enjoys sharing her experience and teachings.
